Consultation and Education for Today's Congregations

Our mission is to assist congregations in becoming healthier communities of faith. Since 1992, we have provided consultants and trained leaders to assist congregations in meeting ongoing challenges and opportunities in a changing world. We strive to serve in ways that are...

Guiding
Congregations and their leaders often know what to do. They have a vision of what health and vitality are, but they do not know how to get to that point. The Center's consultants help the leaders develop the process that will allow the members to participate and contribute. We also provide leadership development opportunities that give clergy the tools they need to provide quality guidance to the congregations and ministry in which they serve.

Healing
In a world where so much is changing, conflict is a natural and painful part of life. At times the conflict becomes destructive. The Center has ten years of experience with processes that provide an opportunity for faith to work its healing power. Our consultants are not the source of healing, but we do know some of the principles of behavior required to experience healing.

Growing
As a congregation faces challenges, the opportunity for growth is incredible. When the leaders and congregations we serve are clear about their mission and work toward it with integrity, the results are amazing. Vital congregations experience growth in many different ways. We are privileged to be part of the process.

The Center serves an average of 20 congregations a month and more than 600 people attend the educational events offered annually.

We are one of the four ministries of the School of Pastoral Care at The North Carolina Baptist Hospitals, Inc. The school's mission is to provide ministries of growth, hope and healing in the spirit of Christ.

The Center serves congregations from many denominations. Our services are designed to work within the congregation's polity.

The ministry depends on the fees paid by congregations and their leaders and the generous gifts of supporters. We are grateful for the substantial support provided by The North Carolina Baptist Hospitals, Inc. and the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. We welcome others to join in the support of the ministry. To make a gift, email us at dmhall@wfubmc.edu.
